Normanhurst Vets are there for you and your pet.
We love our pets. It’s that simple. They are part of our family, and sometimes they have been part of it for a very long time. The hardest decision in our journey together is deciding when and where to help them pass gently into a quiet, peaceful sleep.
While we are wholeheartedly here to help you decide when to make that decision, we’re also here to help you decide where you’d like the transition to take place.
Our mobile euthanasia vet service: an at-home option
We are fortunate to have some of the most loving and responsible pet owners in the area. We see, every day, owners that do everything in their power to ensure their pets have their ‘best day’ every day.
You know that as your vet, NVP share the hardest part of pet ownership with you. We’ve often known your companions since they came into your care, whether as puppies or kittens, or as adults. And because of this, we share the sadness that accompanies the final days.
That’s why we’ve introduced a mobile euthanasia vet option, should you decide that you and your pet would be more comfortable in your own home when the time comes. It’s an option that we have seen helps everyone involved, giving you the environment you need to cuddle, to spoil, to reflect and to grieve.
We see first-hand how much more relaxed and comfortable and relaxed your companion is when they are at home. They’re surrounded by familiar sounds, smells, and objects. The final journey is gentle and quiet, and our vets are there to sit quietly by as the process takes place. We’re also happy to discuss what will take place before we proceed so you’re aware how painless and calm the journey is for our mates.
Being there for your pet, and you
Before the time comes to deciding on end-of-life options for your pet, we encourage you to speak with one of our vets to get a better understanding of your pet’s quality of life as the time approaches. We know that this will be an extremely hard decision, but if you can share your thoughts with us, we hope we can ease your mind by providing the information you need.
We can also help you decide how you’d like to remember your pet. We can take them with us for cremation and have them returned to you in a beautiful vessel.
We can also recommend some supportive resources to help you weather the transition. Grief is a journey, like life itself, and it takes time to find your way.
